Have you ever had a season in your life where church was pretty low on your priorities?  Yet, at the same time, your heart ached with an emptiness which was not being filled by your career, hobbies, or friends?  Most of us have, and those who ended up at COTHA have found that only by meeting God through his church were those empty spaces inside of us filled.  We hope that The Gathering Place will be a service that draws seekers who want to meet God in a relevant way and in a setting that is comfortable.  Those coming can arrive up to an hour before the service and listen to music, hang out with friends and take some time to gather after their week.  They’ll be able to order some coffee and a sandwich or browse through our library and bookstore.   And at 6:00 p.m. they’ll make their way into the sanctuary for a liturgical worship service with Communion, a service with reverent holiness mixed with comfortable edginess. Done by 7:00 p.m. everyone will still have time for a movie….
